A Grand Start

I know that it's very early and that Spring Training games don't count, but Padres prospect Jedd Gyorko, who seems to be the prospect that has the chance to make the most impact on the team this year, started his first Spring Training game by hitting a grand slam in his first at bat!

The Padres beat the Mariners 9-3, and Chris Denorfia went 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Gyorko finished the day going 1 for 3, the slam being his only hit, and he played second base, where he's in competition with Logan Forsythe for a starting job.

It's not much, but it's baseball!  Can't wait for the season to start!

  1. Man, I'm right there with you. Watching hockey, but listening to the Pads, Gyorko ushers it in with a grand one. C'mone!
